Level 8: 300/600/75
Entries: 254
Event 5 has reached Level 8 and the last chance for players to hop in for some of the big Deep Stacks Challenge money. We have 254 entries in the game at the moment and it’s sure to go up over the next level and the break that follows.
Once they return from the second break, registration will lock down for the final event on the schedule and they’ll begin the process of playing down to a champ.

Level 7: 250/500/75
Entries: 240
It’s a lock that Event 5 will hit 250 entries before registration closes and now the race is one to see if they can hit 289 in the next hour. That will put more than $75,000 into the prize pool for some nice money later this evening.
The weekend draw brought Alyson Parker back for some more action. She fell short of the money in Event 4 but aiming again for her second Borgata title to go with her 2013 Borgata Poker Open Ladies Event trophy.

Level 6: 200/400/50
Entries: 232
Event 5 reached the needed entry count to push the prize pool to twice the guaranteed amount and they still have plenty of time to build it higher. Late registration and unlimited re-entries will remain open until the start of Level 9, so players have more than 90 minutes to get to the poker room for some big money action.
We’re also seeing more Borgata regulars making their first Deep Stacks Challenge appearance. Renata Colache is among them looking for her first Borgata title despite several close calls. She’s booked seats at a dozen Borgata final tables, including two DSC appearances, and putting up some big numbers. Colache has more than $142,000 in career earnings with her latest big score coming this summer with an 11th place finish in the $2,500+$200 Borgata Summer Poker Open Championship.

There are a few personalities in the game that you know they’re playing from a distance. Not surprising, a lot of them call the Borgata home like Matt Stout and Will “The Thrill” Failla. You hear them before you see them. You can throw Yee Mau Cheung in with that group because he’s never not enjoying his time at the tables.
His latest loud moment came soon after the first break of the day when he put his stack in the middle and stood up.
“You know what I have,” Cheung’s opponent laughed with him.
Cheung pushed his Ac Kh into Ah Ad and didn’t sniff a bad beat as the dealer spread the Tc 6d 2s 6c Js board.
“Rebuy!” Cheung laughed/yelled.
He’ll have to wait if he wants to hit the re-entry desk since he still has a few chips to sling around.

Level 4: 100/200/25
Entries: 175
Event 5 continues to push its way up closer to 200 entries before the first break and we have ourselves a nice field on a Friday afternoon. With registration open until the start of Level 9, we have plenty of time to watch it grow higher.
Michael Marder is making another stop into the Borgata poker room today. He skipped the first two events of the series but he returned on Wednesday looking for his fourth Borgata tournament title.

Level 3: 100/200
Entries: 157
Event 5 needed only 116 entries to hit the $30,000 guaranteed prize pool and they were in the game well before the third level rolled around. With 157 in the game during Level 3, the prize pool jumped over $40,000 with more than three hours left to register.
$260+$40 Deepest Stack No Limit Hold’em
Level 2: 75/150
Entries: 109
The Event 5 count jumped over 100 by the end of the first level and we’re seeing more players get in the game as we approach the Friday afternoon hours. The $30,000 Guarantee should be hit before the end of Level 2 and they’ll start pushing it higher at that point.
Paul Colwell is one of our (tired) early players in the game and commiserated with some late nighters. He was part of the Event 4 final table that played into the early hours this morning and he left that game earlier than he anticipated. Colwell was sitting comfortably until his aces were cracked by eventual winner Michael Stein to send him out in fifth place.

Level 1: 50/100
Four events are in the books and it’s time to roll into the weekend with the final tournament on this Deep Stacks Challenge schedule. The stacks are deeper, (most) levels are longer, and the guarantee is the biggest of the series.
Event 5 is a $260+$40 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event with a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool and plenty of room in the structure to move.
Everyone will sit down to deep 40,000 starting stacks and the first ten levels will run 25 minutes a piece with late registration/unlimited re-entries available until the start of Level 9 around 3pm. Levels will change to 30 minutes long starting with Level 10 and they will stay that way until this one-day event determines a winner.
Cards go in the air at 11am and we’ll stay here throughout the final tournament of the series.

The final table was Live Streamed on Twitch TV and Borgata’s Facebook page and the audience watched as Jackob Datashvili made the right reads and caught the cards when he needed them. He went from next-to-last in the final table chip counts to taking home the 2019 BSPO trophy and $276,129* for 1st Place.
The series started off with a bang with the $1 Million Guaranteed $540+$60 Deep Stack Kick-Off, which saw 1,925 entrants try their luck in six starting flights over three days. At the final table, Edwin Ortiz held the chip lead when the final seven players opted to call it a day. He took 1st place, the trophy, and $105,000* in a seven-way adjusted payout.
Adam Reese took 1st Place in both the Deeper Stack and Almighty Stack NLH events.
Now another Open Series is in the books and 19 Borgata Summer Poker Open trophies have new homes. In fact, two of them went to the same home. Adam Reese etched his name in the record books when he won two main events during this series, the $260+$40 Deeper Stack NLH ($14,805) and the $400+$50 Almighty Stack NLH ($68,806*). The poker dealer from Pennsylvania may be considering a new career.
Ari Engel – 1st Place – Black Chip Bounty post-lim
After earning nine WSOP Circuit rings, Ari Engel finally won his first WSOP bracelet this summer in the $2,500 NLH event. Now just a month later, Engel has added a third Borgata title to his extensive poker resume. He won the $500+60+$100 Black Chip Bounty Deep Stack post-lim event, earning $16,881 and pushing his lifetime earnings close to $6.7 million.
John McGuinness and Eric Siegel both claimed their fourth Borgata titles during this series, joining a very short list of players who can claim that honor. All guarantees were covered and millions in prize money was paid out to hundreds of participants! A complete list of Main Event winners is below.

Ryan Dodd raised to 125,000 from early position and Alex Lin called from the button. The big blind called and they went three handed to the flop.
The action checked to Lin who tossed out a bet of 80,000 and the big blind folded. Dodd check-raised to 225,000 and after giving it some thought Lin folded.
Dodd tabled his for just king high as he added another pot to his monster stack.
